Drive
Have you ever watched a movie that critics loved, other people loved and just thought, “Why?”
That’s how I felt about Drive.
Going in I thought that the movie would be about Ryan Gosling being a getaway driver, wanting to get out of that life after meeting Cary Mulligan, all while dating Christina Hendricks. That’s what everyone made it seem like.
Spoiler alert: THAT IS NOT WHAT THE MOVIE IS ABOUT.
Ringer — Pilot
The episode just concluded so I’ll be putting this under a cut (Which is how we do things in polite society).
Shows I’ll be watching this fall
(All Time are in CST. Also the shows I watch may be subject to change based on how crappy they are/how good something else turns out to be)
Doctor Who “Let’s kill Hitler”
Before we begin: I know this was due last week. Now I could make up some kind of excuse like “My internet was down” or something like that. But I’ll tell you the truth. I am really bad at getting things in on time, which may be one of the reasons why I never finished college.
But my being bad at due dates was not the only reason that this was late. Every time I went to write about the episode the only thing I could do is focus on the fan reaction. Personally I liked the episode. It was great to see Alex Kingston be comedic. And the whole she was named after herself hits one of my favorite time travel kinks. But then there’s the other side of the fandom that really, really did not and they will tell you that every chance they get. Did it have some flaws? Sure. Everything does. And will I let people see the flaws instead of the positive? If that’s what you want. But if you’re one of those people please don’t try to stop me from liking it.
A note from the Mod:
I know I haven’t been posting a lot here (This blogging stuff is actually really hard work) but with Doctor Who starting back up tomorrow I will be posting episode reviews/thoughts about it as well as some other shows once the Fall season officially starts. I am will be starting an Alias Rewatch in October, so keep your eyes open for that.
I’m going to die when I’m 30.
Oh no. That time I decided to watch all of Pushing Daisies in one sitting is finally looking like a bad idea.
Edit: I just found out that it’s each hour after you hit 25. WOO-HOO! I still have 3 months and 10 day to watch as much TV as I want with no consequences.
